Fall 2024 Content Strategy: A Comeback Season for Creators, Entrepreneurs & Influencers

As you step into the fall of 2024, it’s time to embrace what we’re calling “comeback season.” Whether you’re a content creator, influencer, entrepreneur, or business owner, this is your moment to reset, realign, and absolutely thrive on social media. Fall is always a fresh start for content, and this year is no different.

In this post, we’ll break down an actionable fall content strategy to help you have fun, avoid burnout, and set the tone for the remainder of 2024 (and beyond). From mindset to content pillars, here’s everything you need to know to level up and make this season your best one yet!

Why Treating Content in Seasons Is a Game-Changer

If you’ve ever felt stuck in a content rut or burnt out, treating your content creation in seasons is a game-changer. It allows you to pivot, reset your goals, and refine your strategy as you move through the year. Fall is the perfect time to do this because:

Your audience is in “get it together” mode: September and October bring back-to-school energy. Whether your audience is made up of students, professionals, or fellow creators, everyone’s ready to refocus after the summer.

Brand deals and opportunities skyrocket in Q4: If you work with brands, Q4 is your golden opportunity. Many brands allocate their biggest marketing budgets for this time of year, so it’s prime time to land deals and collaborations.

Step 1: Revisit Your “Why”

Before diving into your fall content strategy, take a moment to revisit your foundation—your mission, vision, and why. Why are you creating content? What do you want your content to achieve for your audience or your business?

Without this clarity, it’s easy to lose motivation or fall into a rut. If you need help with this step, I’ve created a digital workbook that walks you through defining your mission and vision—the same workbook I use with my clients in one-on-one consulting sessions.

Step 2: Reset Your Mindset

Your mindset is the most underrated tool in your content creation toolkit. Going into this season, reset your mindset to make sure you’re approaching content with energy and focus. Here are two key mindset shifts to make this fall:

1. Fall is the best season of content creation: Everyone, including your audience, is ready to get back into routines. People are looking for fresh content that motivates, inspires, or helps them make the most of the rest of the year.

2. Think of fall as a new beginning, not the end of the year: Instead of feeling like fall is your last chance to meet your 2024 goals, treat it as a fresh chapter. You can pivot your content, rebrand, or try something new at any time—fall is the perfect season to do it.

Step 3: Define Your Fall “Era” or Theme

What do you want your content to reflect this season? This fall, define the “era” or theme for your content. Ask yourself:

• If you were invited to speak on a podcast or panel, how would you want to be introduced?

• What do you want to be known for this season?

• How do you want your audience to perceive you?

Whether you’re evolving into a new niche, refining your brand’s aesthetic, or leaning into an identity you’ve been hesitant to own—fall is the time to make it happen.

One of the best ways to get clear on this is to create a mood board. Head to Pinterest or Instagram and start collecting visual inspiration that represents the look and feel you want to embody in your content this fall.

Step 4: Refresh Your Profiles

Now that you’ve defined your theme, it’s time for a refresh. Start by updating your profiles across all platforms to reflect your new “era” and make sure your branding is consistent. Here’s how to refresh your profiles effectively:

Update your bio: Start with a quick “flex” (e.g., “500+ clients” or “10+ years in marketing”), followed by a fun, outward-focused one-liner (e.g., “helping the girlies thrive at the gym”), and end with a call to action (e.g., “listen to my podcast” or “book a session”).

Revamp your profile picture and highlights: A new season is a great time to update your visuals. Update your profile picture to align with your fresh aesthetic and ensure your Instagram highlights or about sections are up-to-date.

Check your links: If you use a link aggregator (like Linktree), now’s a great time to refresh your link choices and visuals. Make sure it’s clear, easy to navigate, and promotes your most important offers or content.

Step 5: Simplify Your Content Pillars

For fall 2024, let’s keep things simple. Instead of trying to juggle multiple content pillars, we’ll focus on two main types:

1. Outer Circle Content: This is content for people who don’t know you yet—think of it as outreach. This content should be high-level, outward-focused, and designed to attract new followers.

2. Inner Circle Content: This is for your current audience—the people who already follow you. These posts can go deeper, offer more personal insights, or cover niche topics that build stronger connections with your existing community.

Rather than sticking rigidly to formats or types of content, make a big list of ideas for both pillars. This will give you the flexibility to experiment while keeping your overall strategy on track.

Step 6: Prioritize Platforms and Build a Realistic Schedule

Fall is a great time to reassess your platform priorities. Instead of spreading yourself thin, focus on two to four platforms that align with your goals and audience. Here’s a simple way to think about it:

1. Choose your priority platforms: These are the platforms where you’ll focus most of your energy. For me, YouTube is my number one, followed by Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest.

2. Build a content schedule that works for you: Your content schedule should feel sustainable and avoid burnout. Quality over quantity is always better. For example, if you create long-form content on YouTube, repurpose it across your other platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Step 7: Embrace the Fun—It’s Comeback Season!

Fall 2024 is all about having fun and stepping into a new version of yourself online. You’re entering a new chapter, and it’s time to reflect that in your content. Whether you’re doing a small rebrand or introducing a fresh content style, embrace the opportunity to be bold and try new things.
